Chaz is a tremendously mature and grounded guy. Can't recall a kid with his sort of character and mental toughness in some time. Just hope he stays humble and hungry, which I'm confident he will.

My favorite line about his height came during the Miami game when the announcer said he was listed at 5'9 after they rounded up to the closest 9

One of the recent games the announcer said he is more like 5' 7", maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were even shorter than that.

As has been said before, you can't measure heart or guts and Chaz has demonstrated both. Plus, he is one tough kid.

I love what Chaz brings to the Minutemen...on and off the floor

It seems that his game has changed over te course of the season.

I'd like to see him distribute more and shoot less. He also needs to work on his free throw shooting. The two misses at the end of the Q game almost cost UMass the game.

Recycling the Chaz thread...

How great have Chaz's free throws been for us lately? He clanked a couple in the early second half at La Salle on 1/8, then proceeded to hit 33 in a row over the next several games. He has taken 60 FTs since that point of the La Salle game, and hit 57 of them, that's a .950 clip.

Overall, his season number at the line is .794. UMass, as a team, is .675. Take away Chaz, and UMass collectively is .631, just a smidge above last-place (Fordham) in the A-14.

He's the right guy to be our best FT shooter.

If Laguerre is what we hope, we're going to be stacked in the backcourt for a couple years. Jesse is getting better by the second.

I'm pretty sure it has already been noted, but Jesse more or less recruited Chaz when he found out Chaz was leaving Fordham. Thank you Seton Hall for giving us Jesse and that leading to Chaz. Sometimes you just have to have dominos fall right for you.

I never heard this before. How did they even know each other (Philly, Brooklyn)?

Interesting to look at this, but I don't know if it's fair to view them as second to last place if you take away Chaz. I bet a lot of teams numbers would drop if you took their best FT shooter away.

But I see your point. Chaz is clearly our best FT shooter, and he takes the most (136) which makes a significant impact on the overall percentage. Jesse and Javorn aren't too bad at 74 and 73% respectively, they just don't take enough to have a huge impact.

Chaz transferred from Hofstra not Fordham. I believe Chaz's coach left Hofstra for Fordham.

uo is correct. But I still am wondering about the origin of the Jesse-Chazz connection. I absolutely never heard it before, and you won't be surprised to learn that I do read whateve I can find about the team.
