^ That's good but as of last night everybody and their brother are predicting him to go to Indiana!

^ It's only a bad thing if they miss out on Brown and the time spent recruiting him could have been used recruiting someone else and been a factor in actually getting that other person.

Like I said before, DK doesn't have a history of heavily pursuing players that he doesn't think he has a good chance at getting.

247 Crystal Ball predictions don't mean all that much, but I find it interesting and intriguing that Jerry Meyer, who's a big deal at 247, just put in a prediction for Brown to go to UMass. There are 7 total, the first 6 were all Indiana. Then he tweeted that DK was there watching...

I may be reading the predictor wrong, but it looks like its only a 14% chance he goes to Umass with over 80% to Indiana. Wouldn't keep our hopes up.

^ You aren't reading it wrong. But the devil is in the details. Many of those crystal ball picks are little more than total guesses and it often follows a herd mentality. I asked Jerry Meyer if his pick was based on intel or anything of substance. If it is I'd say the chances of UMass to Brown jumps up to maybe 75%. If it's little more than a guess, I'd say maybe 25%.

Is there much precedent for so many recruiting "experts" being wrong? I would love for most of the 24/7 predictors being wrong, but it seems like the outlook is bleak for us signing Bruce Brown with so many people predicting him to sign with Indiana. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm not exactly getting my hopes up.

^ People change their predictions all the time on there. It's not truly intended as a predictor, but rather as an indicator of trends in recruiting industry sentiment.

71% of what I read about recruiting is white noise to me. It is a good thing most industries require more work before deeming someone an "expert" compared to recruiting. Sure there are some really knowledgeable folks out there, but there are way more yahoos.

It does sound like DK is putting in work this week, including Brown.

Considering there's literally a 'prediction graph' showing how people's guesses change all the time, I wouldn't put much stock into expert predictions. 86% vs 14% doesn't mean he has a 14% chance of picking us, it means one of the 7 experts chose us. Who knows if these predictions are based on inside information, or if they feel the odds are 50/50 and they need to just give an answer?

FWIW, Unique McLean had 4 crystal ball predictions, all for UMass. Jerry Meyer made one of them (same guy who just picked Brown to UMass).

Exactly. Jerry Meyer also has our boys Jarreau and Gresham going to LSU, and there's a host of evidence that says they want to leave Louisiana. So even though I posted Meyer changed his prediction, it's hardly a science. It's nice to have someone think Brown is coming to UMass though...
