I don't know if you wrote that or Andy Katz did, but that absolutely makes no sense.

If we are threatening to sue, that's just freakin' ridiculous. Just push the Zags trip to Amherst out a freakin' year. Jesus. What's with the threat of litigation??

Or as Warren Zevon might have said,

If they push it back a year it better be when the students are here. This looked like a bad deal from the beginning. They were going to play the game between Dec 28 and Jan 4? Ugh.

He also said he saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vics [and] his hair was perfect.

Let's play the Zags

Post by Steve81 » Wed Jul 20, 2005 7:42 pm

AD’s care about budgets and money, but I’m a fan. I care about great games and atmosphere. We all know good teams generate larger crowds. I have hopes that our team will be a top 25 team by years end. To get there we need to play against a number of top 25 teams and win most games against teams ranked between 16 and 30. I know I tend to be overly optimistic, but we did beat UConn and GW at GW last year.

If we do not play the Zags this year, I’d like to play them next year, while school is in season and a night game around 9 pm. I love the atmosphere when the students show in large numbers. Both teams should have a good year and next years game could be on one of the ESPN channels. The $100,000 does nothing for this fan, but a late night game on national TV and wild crowd excites this fan.

Go UMass!!!

Looks like the field is set for the holiday tournament at MSG......

Looks like they stacked it with local teams and then brought in us as the outsider......St. John's, St. Peter's, Columbia and us.

Not looking good. Gazette reports that Miami won't be coming to Amherst this year, although they will fulfill contract the following season.

Right now they only have 25 games scheduled and their OOC home schedule is BU, Siena and Hartford. Looks like they have a little work to do.

Although really late it would be awesome if we could get a Louisville or Kentucky up to Mullins.

The closest Kentucky would play us when we were a Top 10 team was the Meadowlands. Why would they play us on the road now? They may love Travis in Lexington, but not that much. As for Louisville, I could see Pitino considering a game in the Fleet Center (or whatever they call it now) if we got good, but not the Mullins. (Then again, he might not want to come back to Boston at all, for obvious reasons.)
