This dude succkkkkssss. Only guy on here, I would cheer getting kicked off of the board. I along with many others posters post a lot of nonsense but at least it's relevant to the thread. You're wasting Mike's bandwidth dude.
Feel free to use the "report" button. It didn't get me anywhere, but you might have more luck.
On a side note, I reported you as well for being the "Ass clown know it all" board member.
I'm reporting
everyone(including myself)

only 24 days till kickoff. the spread is down to 7.50. That's practically a pick'em.

After reading all the websites and statistical things: ESPN is the most favorable. They have us at 33% vs NMSU, 54% vs New Mexico, 32% vs Ark State, 88% vs Merrimack. Massey's is a little more pessimistic: 20%, 31%, 20%, 88%, respectively. I have to go with ESPN however as there is NO WAY we are not favored vs. New Mexico, which is a horrendous team, much worse than us. Just can't see how a 2-10 team with horrible recruiting, flying across the country after having played the week before is favored???

It comes down to proving it on the field.. we have been down so long no one will give the team anything until they do it. I think last year against NMSU if we had any offense and any play calling we win that game... CFN says NMSU has some guys but has lost some guys and predicts a 4-9 season. We need a statement in game 1 to set the tone for the season.

Do you guys think it's unreal to think we can crack the top 40 in total defense? I was looking at the NCAA.com rankings from 2022 and they had us at 55 for the year. That is not bad at all, if we had an offense that was somewhat functional, we could have been close to .500. NCAA.com had our offense at 129 out of 131 in 2022

Unreal that Casula was brought back.

UConn was 124 in total offense and 70 in defense.. they went to a bowl game... it doesn't take much... if we can get to around 40 like you said and maybe to 100 in offense.. a bunch of wins will come

The run defense was atrocious last year. The defense will be better this year, hopefully the run defense will improve, which will test the pass defense a bit more. I think Casula made mistake. I don’t think Whip would have been too successful with the offense based on the personnel they had on the roster. The schedule is a bit tougher I think this year to defend. More chances for higher scores against UMass.

I think the fact that we couldn't score or stay on the field contributed to the run against numbers.. teams could get up a little and just pound the rock. I think year 2 for many in this D is huge... I agree about the O. There really was limited talent in a new offense. Fingers crossed for improvement on both sides.. there are winnable games out there.

Yes, we can definitely crack the top 40 in total defense. DB has brought in a ton of great Portal guys especially from Univ of Arizona. Don't even get me started on Casula.........he's a year to year guy. Only DB has a multiyear contract. Guess DB really likes him.

The Vegas over/under is 2.5 There are 2 games that are definitely winnable: New Mex and Merrimack. Chance we get one more maybe Ark State. Would most likely be a home game.

Your right!!!! We have been down so long that all FBS and most FCS teams will be favored over us (even at home). I know football is not like basketball or even hockey: one guy CANNOT turn things around. re: Camby/Cale Makar. I guess that's why the 2021 Hockey National Championship was special. I watched every second of all 4 games in the playoffs and the wrap-around Trivino to Wait over UMD was unreal!!!!
Don Brown is a legit HC. It's his 3rd time at UMass. He's no kid. Looks a little old in the videos/pics. Still think Mark Whipple was/is a solid football coach offensive mind. That's why he has been hired at P5's as OC. We've had 2 bad hires since 2012: Molnar and Bell. I don't understand how Bamford could hire Bell after hiring Carvel. Thought he was more on the ball.

Hiring Bell was the worst. It’s not like people were knocking the door down to get the job, too.

Probably was hoping he was hiring the next hot young up and coming coach I guess. Bell's resume didn't dictate that he was going to be that but I'm giving Bamford the benefit of the doubt. I think the Molnar hire was still worse. That was the most important hiring after the debacle of the Kevin Morris years heading into FBS and we blew it.
Sorry back to the 2023, we seem to always get dragged into past coach talk on this board. I like the over win total (+2.5) with much improved run d and a top 40 overall defense.

I think three wins is the floor and 7 is the ceiling this year. If they pull out a win in week zero I think they win 5-7. If they lose week zero, it is likely they go 0-4 before a win. I think Merrimack, New Mexico and Arkansas State are wins. Toledo,Auburn, Liberty, PennState all losses by more than two scores. NMS, EM, Miami, UConn are one score games (likely losses). Army a two score loss. If they win week one, EM and UConn are the likely two flips to wins and army becomes a toss up with Miami. If week zero is a shit show, Merrimack and New Mexico become the only two wins.

let's see what happens in 3 weeks. We're 7.5 pt dogs and that's almost a Pick'em on the road.
