Let's put it this way: what schools were playing for the national championship 90 years ago?? Ohio State, Alabama, Texas A&M,.....who is playing for the national championship today? Ohio State, Alabama, Texas A&M...........that's all you need to know. Plenty of people are pissed a Tulane or JMU is even on the same playing field as Oregon or Oklahoma.......it's not hoops with a #16 seed beating a #1 like Virginia lost etc......best guy we had in the NIL era was KLA and we couldn't keep him.minutefanjsf wrote: Wed Dec 24, 2025 11:50 pmThere is a lot of talk of a salary cap with NIL. When a salary cap comes into the equation, the P4 will still hit the max and some G6 schools will spend enough to create a little more parity. The P4 shills are trying to stop that in its tracks.

Yes. We agree. Those that are angry will do whatever they can to keep the traditional powers (Oregon is “new” power). My point is that the players and landscape is changing to a point those powers may not have the power. They are scrambling. Interesting that you used 90 years ago….the southern schools didn’t get their grasp until about 70 years ago. 90 years ago, Fordham, Ivies, and military academies were the dominant programs I think.ZooMass84 wrote: Thu Dec 25, 2025 7:23 amLet's put it this way: what schools were playing for the national championship 90 years ago?? It’s hilarious every time someone on here tries to figure out any of Zoo’s rambling thoughts. Do you really think he put any thought into saying 70 or 90 years.minutefanjsf wrote: Thu Dec 25, 2025 8:24 amYes. We agree. the AP writers were the sole pollsters. 1936 was the first "true" National championship......Fordham and the Ivys were already being "phased out" by the 50's......yes Fordham had the "seven blocks of granite" but by the 50's they had dropped football. The USMA and USNA are different animals. The Ivy League was founded after WW2 and was actually a downgrade and Harvard and Princeton were not playing for the National Championship by that time.minutefanjsf wrote: Thu Dec 25, 2025 8:24 amYes. i think with 3 of the 4 bye teams losing, we will see a push of the big conferences to go to 16. Much better off having a home game vs the 14 seed if you are the 3 seed vs getting a bye.

If IU wins it all(and I think they can), Curt Cignetti will have performed one of the all time greatest coaching jobs in the history of NCAA football.
