This is the first step in getting players to sign set term contracts direct with universities in order to receive compensation. At least I'm hoping it is.

More reflection from Frank on this past season:

“I obviously didn’t do a very good job doing my job,” Martin said last week. “I can’t evaluate the players before I evaluate myself. As I self-evaluate, I did a bad job. The decisions I made, and the ways I chose to handle the individuals and the team did not work. I have to be a lot better moving forward.”
“The one consensus I came to, there are three areas we got to get better at,” Martin said. “We got to pass the ball better, we got to shoot the ball better, and we need a team that’s willing to talk."

Here’s one way to help the team short a higher free throw percentage:

Rollie Castineyra on Instagram: "Redshirt year was fun!"

That's a little surprise. So we had 4 guys do a redshirt. I know he didn't play this season, but he always looked like he was suited up and ready to go.
Walker/Brigham/Engel usually didn't even do road trips, but Rollie did.
I don't get why walk-ons redshirt, but whatever, it's not my journey.

Might be on a five year plan and wants to stay on the team?

Please dear G-d, let last season be the bottom for the 21st century. Hopefully the team will gel next year and do very well in the MAC.
Did the statistics and we did better with A10 play averaging 3,353.6 All games and plugging in 2k for UMass Boston, the season average was 2,949

Thanks for the summary.
Are there any stats that show broader trends in college basketball? I thought the trend is generally down, but I don't have stats.

You can view overall attendance (not game-by-game, or % capacity) on the A10 website:
https://atlantic10.com/stats.aspx?path=mbball&year=2024
Navigate to "team stats", "misc", and then there is a drop-down so you can change the year. For example, they had UMass at 2,824/game in 2024, down from 3,477 in our 20-win 2023 season, and even further down from 3,580 in Frank's first year. Going back to the last couple McCall years is pointless as Covid had a pretty big effect on attendance.

Thanks Juice Stands. It's obvious from looking at the figures and being 2,000 lower is they did not plug in 2,000 for the UMass Boston game and the lower number. At a minimum would add 100 to the average attendance or 1,600 people attending the UMass Boston game.
