SG or combo guard. Athletic, kind of the total package for a guard, looks like a great fit for the UMass style.
NERR rates him as the #6 prospect in 2016 in New England.

Played two years at Wakefield High, watched him play a few times. Everyone knew he was going to be a Prep Schooler and re-classify, I am actually shocked he even came back for his soph year at wakefield. Also plays for Papile at BABC. Started at PG as a frosh for Wakefield and was more of a combo guard his Sophomore year. Elite athleticism, watched him throw down a 1 handed tomahawk dunk over a 6'6" All-State player from North Andover last year. Good handle too. Pretty raw, but he's only a Soph at Vermont Academy and bound to get better with better coaching while playing much better competition. Definitely a high-level D1 talent. If he develops a consistent 3 pointer he's going to skyrocket up the recruiting rankings.

Since he plays for BABC there's no chance he comes to UMass right??

^ BABC kid and he goes to Vermont Academy, where Try Davis left in the middle of the year. Not exactly prime UM pedigree.

Good idea for DK to try to melt some of the resistance.

FWIW:
His performance resulted in new scholarship offers from the likes of Iowa State, Virginia Tech, and Providence who join a list that already included UMass, Boston College, VCU, Rhode Island, Miami, Tulsa, Minnesota, Xavier, and Texas Tech.

I saw that Jackson....very impressive highlight vid. I'm already getting way too excited envisioning this kid suit up in a UMass uniform

it doesn't help that more and more D1 schools are starting to take notice. Bruce, come to the ZOO!!

Great job, DK, on following our recommendations for more in-state recruiting

Being close to home might be the only thing that can keep UMass in the running for Brown. We're talking about a top 75 c/o 2016 recruit across the board, #30 per ESPN, #2 ranked player in New England per NERR. He's already got offers from Miami, Wake Forest, VCU, Minn, Xavier, Iowa State, Auburn, etc.
DK hasn't shown a tendency to chase recruits that he thinks are a long-shot. Once big schools move in on a recruit, or for whatever reason he thinks UMass can't compete, he moves on to someone else. So although it's early, the fact that he was watching some of Brown's games last month and had him piggy back a visit w/ Pipkins I take to be a very good sign. It's still probably a low probability to get Brown, but it's better than no chance at all.

^ Here is my "wish list" for 2016. We land Bruce Brown and his teammate from VT Academy, Sedee Keita. We are now an NCAA tourney team for the foreseeable future. In reality, I hope Luwane's enthusiasm rubbed off on Brown.

^ Might as well get Tony Bradley too while we're dreaming.

I'm usually about as pessimistic as it gets when it comes to our chances vs some big schools... But if that list ends up being our only competition, I like our chances.. I would really only worry about ISU & Miami (and to a lesser extent, VCU) in terms of an easy choice over UMass.
When we will have to get worried is when the big dogs start losing out on the top 50's kids they're recruiting and come stealing our shot at a top 100 guy

The list will grow, I have little doubt. Michigan is already following him. BC and Providence are two local teams that have offered as well and some others like Arizona State and Texas Tech.
