Game 33, 2013-14: Tennessee (NCAA Round of 64)

Here we go!

2:45 (approximate) tip-off time on Friday afternoon in Raleigh. I'm really surprised that the NCAA is making Iowa/Tennessee play in the afternoon, after having the late game on Wednesday and then having to travel. Like it was said elsewhere, we're hoping for a bruiser overtime game in that one.

Who is going to make the trip?

On the CBS Sports bracket all the play-on games are listed as being on "truTV." What the heck is that? And so are a bunch of the first round games that they call second round.
edit: OK, I just read about truTV on Wikipedia. Whatever, just another lame cable network. Wonder if I get it. Also wondering if a lot of the games will be on espn3 as they were last year.

Definitely a big advantage to play earlier in the day. We need to press them hard to wear them out early in the game.

games will be on CBS, TNT, TBS and TruTV so all games will be televised live

Len - truTV is on my Comcast cable. I have no idea what it is. Right now "Disorder in the Court" is playing.

A station most people and I have only ever watched during March Madness (CBS used it last year as well).

Just checked. I got it on my Comcast, too. Who knew? I AM MORE EXCITED ABOUT THIS TOURNAMENT THAN I'VE BEEN IN, WELL, 16 YEARS!!!!! Where are people seeing that our game is 2:45 on Friday?

I'll be there. Flying Southwest to avoid change fees in the event they lose. Definitely don't want to stick around until Monday AM if we are out by early evening on Friday. Staying about 10 minutes from the arena at a Marriott and Hilton (changing halfway through for points purposes). Hoping to get some tickets through UMass, but if not, I'll just go secondary market.

Waiting on UMass for tickets, otherwise I'll have to buy on the secondary market.

Not sure where we are staying yet, but will be there through Sunday.

OK, I see the 2:45 time is now listed on CBSsports.com. That's a gift. Makes up a bit for the possibility of having to play Duke in Raleigh.

Len...TruTV is part Turner Entertainment just like TBS and TNT. This is at least the second season that all of the Turner channels have been utilized to ensure that each game of the tournament is shown in its entirety.

The good news is that UMass plays on CBS on Friday afternoon!
