He's been mentioned in the 2019 Recruiting thread, but given our new love of anything Woodstock Academy, let's give Ronnie DeGray III his own thread.
He mentioned on Twitter last night that we offered...

His dad played at Colorado. DeGray averaged 14 points and 8.2 rebounds per game at CU from 1996-98 and was named All-Big 12 Conference in 1998. DeGray teamed with Chauncey Billups in 1997 to help lead the Buffs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 28 years.

They also had a nice blurb about Tre. This article is from January following the Hoop Hall Classic in Springfield. Consider me very intrigued.https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com ... k-boosters Corey Evans wrote:
Woodstock Academy is a program that, as a whole, you want to buy stock in because of their multiple late-bloomers. The latest to prosper is Ronnie Degray. I really liked what I saw with the Colorado native this summer with the Billups Elite program and while he didn’t begin his senior year great, he picked the perfect time and platform to jumpstart his recruitment. Finishing with 27 points, on a variety of finishes and deep jumpers, Degray is going to be talked about often in the coming weeks.
Arkansas hasn’t offered yet but may be close. Oklahoma State didn’t wait, offering Degray immediately after his impressive outing. In today’s game he's a combo forward and has already seen his stock explode with more likely to enter the picture in the days ahead.
Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III
Is it just me or isn't it a bit counterproductive to have six or seven freshmen scholarships. Not only does it create imbalances on your team and ensures some players will never develop into starters it severely limits future recruitment.
Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III
If all of them play, then yes. I would have to imagine at least one of the guys gets red shirted. That will at least help to spread out your class distribution. Not to mention, with transfers out (usually at least one a year) I am not too worried about loading up with this class.

No problem with any one of them redshirting. Put redshirted and that worked out pretty well. McLean did so as well.

So our JV team plays in CT with Woodstock jerseys, it seems.
Have we ever recruited one school so heavily?

Since 2003 (on 247sports) the 2019 Woodstock class is by far the most recruited by UMass with 6 offers. The next closest is Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) in 2018 and 2019 and Putnam Science Academy (Putnam, CT) in 2019 all with 3 offers.
Prior to McCall the most UMass had done was two offers per school per season. And even that only happened four times and only in three seasons. Those rare occasions also included the NOLA duo.
The most recruited schools by UMass are Montverde Academy and Putnam Science Academy with 8 offers since 2003. Woodstock now has 7.
