Historical milestones

Post by MikeUMA » Fri Jan 10, 2025 11:21 am

Carving out a place for some historical events...

Big one today. Today's the 125th anniversary of UM's first game of record.

I haven't seen the school say anything about it as yet, but I posted on BlueSky and Facebook

We lost the next two 26-4 and 21-4, and it has been an uphill battle ever since. :D

At them? I was our high scorer with three points in each game! Berkman made a foul shot both games.

As I remember, your flat-footed set shot from eighteen feet out was masterful. Your under-hand free throw shooting needed some work. But the fans came out to marvel at your hook shot from anywhere in the front court.

The flat-footed set shot was about all I could master for intramural games in the Cage in the early 60’s, never mind 125 years ago.

I was in the pep band. The team name was " the Aggies" but some farmers got upset so it was changed to "the Redmen".
