Game 2, 2025: Bryant (H, 9/6)

Post by ZooMass84 » Mon Sep 01, 2025 7:51 am

This is a get right game. We win handily. They only had an opening first quarter FG vs NMSU. I predicted the Temple blowout but we get this one and 1 or 2 others. We're just not at the stage where we can compete against AAC teams.

If Rose doesn't look sharpe in the first quarter, he better have a short leash.. I do think we can move the ball and score a bunch. Would like to see more down field shots.

Temple was the failed test. Bryant is the "extra credit" assignment. Someone posted earlier that the SEC games and this Bryant game won't tell you anything. I agree with that. Gotta wait to see how we do against some MAC teams.

Bryant is a horrendous 1AA team; we're a horrendous 1A team. We get this one. Temple may go to a bowl this year. They have 1AA Howard this week and then ECU, Army, Rice, etc. They go to a bowl.

I think the Bryant game might tell us something, but only in a bad way. If we dominate them, it tells us nothing. We should dominate them. If we don't, it tells us that this will be a very long year.

If nothing else, dominating Bryant after getting embarrassed by Temple would show us that the team has some heart,

ESPN says there is a 90.5% chance of UMass beating Bryant.

I think this is a great game to give the other QBs some reps as well. Rose definitely showed me he’s the starter because our OC coached him last season not because he’s the best QB on the roster.

I think we can learn from all of these games. The Big Ten Iowa game is a team coach H knows. I also appreciated the fact that he said the defense played bad. Period.

I'd like the defense to execute way better in every facet. Like to see routes clearing out open gaps. Seemed to be a lot of coverage when throwing to the middle. A lot of almost interceptions. TE receptions would be nice and runs after the catch. Ok with not running the ball out as we've been burned more often than not. The kicking game was very good. The band seemed bigger. Yes, saying the sound system was good and really help with the vocals. Very good showing and looking forward to the band this Saturday and Sunday's halftime Patriot show.

I would not assume anything when it comes to UMass Football.

If they lose to Bryant all hell will break loose.

Anything less than a 14 point win is cause for major concern. Take care of business.

Do to Bryant what the Owls did to us.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Maybe it's just me, but I hate this statement to the press:
Harasymiak: Bryant No Easy Task For UMass
For me, it's OK to say this to the team to get them fired up, but say nothing to the press. Maybe just say something like, "after last week it's obvious we have some things to clean up".
