Speaking of Cal, ESPN's College Gameday is in Memphis today for the Louisville rematch.

Hmmmm. Ole Marcus Camby scandal has nothing on that soap opera in Memphis.
"Nobody told me there'd be days like these!"

Cal couldn't even live up to Cal if he came back to UMass. He seems to have forgotten what made his UMass teams great, though. It wasn't NBA first rounders.

Interesting peak into the guy's head though, don't you think? Maybe it shines some light on the real reason why UMass and UConn didn't play each other "all those years".

The article in no way discusses the fact that Calhoun is a pussy, so I'm not sure what you're talking about Truth.

Calhoun isn't a pussy. He's a spiteful (and spitfull) bitchboy, but he isn't a pussy.
You know, say what you will about America, 13 bucks still gets you a hell of a lot of mice.

Truth knows as well as anyone that Lew Perkins was behind UMass and UConn not playing in the mid 90's. Lew Perkins is among the best ADs in the business and it was a smart move for UConn.

Lew played a part but it was no more than a small part. He wanted a deal that favored UConn financially. He wasn't being offered that at the time. All true. But the bigger reason was the rift between Calhoun and Calipari. The paranoia and finger pointing and posturing from Calipari were all present back in the mid-90s. Calhoun couldn't stand the guy and, yes, he is a spiteful bastard like a lot of other hot headed Irish guys from Boston I know. Fear? Hardly. Two guys holding a grudge? Seems like it to me.

Memphis shooting:
11-56
including 1-23 threes
missed 11 FTs to go with it...

Perkins is a weasel. He sold the state of Conn. a bill of goods that the University was going to be left behind if it did not invest in FB. Then when he saw that the Big East was going to implode and in the near future possibly lose it's BCS bid he high tailed it out of dodge so he did not have to face the music.
Also look at the state of the Maryland Atheltic Department after he left there. Violations, drug scandals, and financial disarray.
Please think before you type.

Chelsea H.S. 1963..
I was on the court against him a few times back then...(I used my toe-stepping D)
a friend of mine who was his H.S. teammate told me a few yrs ago, if I saw Perkins to tell him that xxx (my friend/his teammate) said he was a stiff..
I had the opportunity to do so at Mullins, and Perkins looked at me with a goofy smile on his face and said not a word.

Pitino 53
Calipari 44
Looks like Cal and the Tigers (16-12) are heading to the NIT.

Yes that would be keen. Two underacheiving teams. They would still beat Umass by 25 because of the 40 minutes of hustle.
