Remember Monty talking about playing three games a day, riding the yellow school bus between sites for BABC games?

These guys know, or know of, each other.

Speaking of Chaz and Jesse...
UMass basketball guards Jesse Morgan and Chaz Williams are bringing out each other's best

Chaz transferred from Hofstra not Fordham. I believe Chaz's coach left Hofstra for Fordham.
My bad. I knew it was Hofstra, I must have had Forham on the brain. As Chris mentioned, they played some AAU ball together and in a few of their interviews they have talked about knowing each other for a long time. Whatever the reason, we are lucky to have both of them for the next two years.

Interesting timing that this just came up today on the board, and here's Chimelis with info:
Williams has played some AAU ball as Morgan's teammate.

Chimelis' column was on line well before that info appeared on the board today.

I know I may take from crap for even bringing this up...but after watching last nights game, sure Tu had a bad game but i want to credit that to our defense, I really think a valid arguement for Chaz being 1st or 2nd team all conference this year. Looking at the numbers Chaz averages 1 point less per game then Holloway but averages more .7 more boards and 1 more assist.

Wanna get some thoughts on what people think

He's in the mix. 4th in scoring, 1st in assists. He'll make some team, I would guess.

Holloway is good, and his reputation will get him 1st or 2nd team. THere are a lot of good guards in this league, but Chaz' numbers take a backseat to no one (though his turnovers are an issue). There will be room for him somewhere, and on next years preseason team.

You know he's gonna get Chris Mack's vote.

I don't post here often and haven't in a long time, but after Chaz's game last night, I don't see why he wouldn't get serious consideration for A10 POY if we are able to finish in the top 4. No one in the league has really seperated themself at this point.
Maybe Moore gets it, just because Temple is the best team. He scores 2 more points per game, but doesn't do as many other things as Chaz. I don't think anyone in the league is more important to their team than Chaz.

Agree 100%. Where would we be without him?

If Chaz plays three more games like that one, he'll certainly be in the running. But remember, the game before, against LaSalle, he wasn't very impressive, he didn't look any better than Duren, and maybe not as good.

This goes back to the baseball argument of POY vs MVP. I think Chaz is without question the most valuable player to his team in the A10. That does not mean, however, that he is the best player in the league. That being said, I'm really glad we have him.

Over the last 8 games, Chaz has played 324 out of the 335 possible minutes, and averaged 20.8 points per game.

Someone's going to get a well deserved rest in 10 days, but not before :)

Well hopefully he goes home to NYC to be with his family for the next few days over spring break and gets some home cookin' and R&R and time with his daughter. Then gets a big family contingent in MSG next week. He looked very happy to be going home in the presser.

Love this kid.
This is the most enjoyable losing season ever!
