Should UConn being barred from next year's tournament, Oriakhi could play immediately at another school. If UConn is successful in appealing the tournament ban, Oriakhi would have to sit out a year before using his final year of eligibility.

I'm just waiting for the nancies at the NCAA to talk tough about conU and their transgressions, but let them off the hook, again.Chris20 wrote:http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... ek-10-days
UConn to learn fate soon. I'd expect Oriakhi and the rest to hold off on anything until they know what's what.
Will be wierd for him if they win their appeal, making UConn eligible next year and voiding his ability to leave without sitting out.

Couple days old and still just speculation, but it mentions us so I thought I'd share.UMass – If staying close to home is important, the Minutemen have a shot. UMass, currently in the “other” Final Four, graduates its leading rebounder (Sean Carter), but returns its top two scorers in sophomore guards Chaz Williams and Raphiael Putney. Oriakhi would fit nicely.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like staying close to home is one of the concerns. From Zags Blog: http://www.zagsblog.com/2012/03/31/oria ... more-70561 - he is visiting UNC, Duke, Washington, and Gonzaga.
We still have an offer out there to Issac Freeman. He might end up with the last scholarship and I would assume he would need to redshirt for a year. DK has done a really good job with that type of strategy so far.
If AO came here, he wouldn't have to worry about a last minute 5 star recruit getting added at the last minute like he did last year.
