This team just scratches and claws it’s way to victories, love rooting for these young men!

Maybe I took it the wrong way but does Tim Welsh have an issue with UMass? Seemed to be harboring some resentment with some of his comments.

WFH tomorrow...so I can see the game. Thanks you nor'easter!

BTW..where's Eldon...shouldn't he be here praising CJ? :P
I watched the online stream, it was two Stadium TV announcers. I was surprised they didn't immediately pick up the cact Umass was in a zone defence and they never did. Goes to how how much we rely on the announcers to give us info. They were not terrible just not very prepared.
Audio cut out for big chunks, most im not sure what they said. It wasn't a weird zone. It was disguised though. They basically started in what looked like a hybrid 1-3-1 and came out of it into either a 2-3 or a man. They did have the 5 come up and play ball screens that were set at the top of the zone many times. It was a zone that had some man tendencies, but it wasn't a match up.

Gritty effort...C.J. was awesome.

Not sure what field Giannini is a Doctor in, but I am guessing his PHD might be in Getting Teams to Underachieve.

You realize that this was the #11 vs #13 game?

sorry guys, for some reason my post never went through. I was able to watch game on Apple TV through Stadium TV icon...seems like there is always a way to watch these games if you take the time to search.

Not even a particularly good night for Pierre. This team has big balls. The good news is that Pipkins will be well rested for tomorrow's game. Great, great effort.
These were my thoughts and it’s not the first time I’ve thought like that after a game...if you were going to make a ‘key to the game’ list for UMass winning it would include:

Pipkins scoring 20+ And playing 35+ minutes
Pierre making 3+ three pointers and scoring 15
Hines playing big mins for D and rebounding

None of that happened but Miller made big plays, Unique defended and rebounded like a power forward, CJ did a great job leading, scoring and playing minutes with 4 fouls.
Tough to predict but fun to watch.

Wonder if Vegas makes them the favorite tomorrow because they are the better team

I'm happy for CJ that it doesn't end with a whimper, and I very happy that the guys coming back get at least this taste of success. It bodes well for next year that they can remember winning one.

I do. And in the 11 vs 14 game GW/Ford, they already have 15 by half. I don't care what game it is, 16 is ridiculously low, particularly when a team scores a lot in the post like Lasalle did.

^^
I also think that LaSalle didn't have any 2nd half turnovers which seems impossible. No traveling, no offensive fouls, no bad pases, no Umass steals... But I think it is true. Such an odd game for LaSalle, only 5 turnovers and they only hit one three-pointer and Umass had only 1 steal.

Tremendous win. Can't believe Powell missed the wide-open look at the end, but happy to take the W and not look back. But what kind of garbage is it that UMass is playing so soon at 2:30 tomorrow? That's disgraceful by the Atlantic 10. Eighteen hours to recover? They could have easily slotted them into the 6 p.m. window. What a friggin' joke. Puts the thumb heavily on the scale in favor of George Mason. No matter - Pipkins is going to be fresh as can be.

I thought I heard one of the announcers was former PC coach Tim Welsh. Unless it was a different Tim Welsh. Or it could have been someone completely different and the shitty audio made me hear things.

Anyway, CJ Anderson - wow. He has been possessed since about the midway point of the conference slate. I don’t think he’s missed a 3 since Valentine’s Day [/hyperbole]. This was such a weird game. 21/7/4 - another great game. Unique goes for 0 and 9 and straight up bumped his head on the roof to block the la Salle shot w/ about 30 seconds left. If I’m unique (my mom always said I was) I’m taking 200 shots a day all off season. If he could shoot a lick he’d be unguardable. Now, time for some revenge.
