Game 11 (2018-19): New Hampshire

Post by Marshmont_63 » Tue Nov 13, 2018 4:22 pm

UNH will travel to Amherst for a rare Sunday afternoon game. UMass beat UNH 5-1 at the Whitt in their only meeting thus far this season.

UNH is 0-3-3 in road games, and 1-5-3 overall.

Their only win is against the HE last-place Vermont team.

While decent on D, they struggle scoring:

Game is on NESN+, 578 on Fios, 2 pm.

Are students still on campus or already home for Thanksgiving? Hope it's a good crowd. I'm bummed I can't make it out there today.

The last day of classes was Friday. I expect some (how many is a ?) students. There is a vibe among the students for hockey so I'm hoping that any who live within an hour of Amherst make the trek.

As a regular BB attendee (STH) and an occasional hockey attendee I could see a huge difference in the atmosphere today vs. any BB game this year. The announced crowd was only 3,365 and there were virtually no students but even the "old people" were into it. The team is fun to watch. By far, the best skating team I've seen and at times the best passing team.

My only complaint is that the canned music carries on too long, sometimes even after the puck has been dropped. All in all, good game for the pucksters. Keep it up!

Last thought. If we could only get 3,365 for today's hockey game (Pats have a bye week, so no football conflict) we will be lucky to see 1,500 tomorrow night.

I tend to like the hockey playlist more than the BB and FB playlists. I just kind of wish they'd "read the room" more and turn down the music a bit when the crowd isn't that loud.

A lot of it is the students are gone. When the students are on break why not give away the seats to youth organizations, offer free admission to kids from other colleges, and/or offer the seats at the GA rate?

Weird to see the brag on twitter about a sellout and then see 5000 empty seats.

^ They said GA sold out - only a handful of sections other than the student section are GA.
