Add me to the slack-cutters.

In the spirit of this being an unprecedented situation that we're all working through together, I was very happy to read that virtual season tickets may be offered.

I'm guessing that most, if not all, of us would be happy to buy them. Ideally, away and neutral site games would be part of the deal.

100% Hyped for the season to get started. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to see the team in person, but the situation dictates that, not UMass or Bamford. Does anyone know what the virtual season ticket is?

The major disappointment for me will be not getting to go and applaud Carl Pierre on Senior Day. It's not often in this day and age of transfer rules that we get a 4-year player, and certainly not often that we get someone like Carl. He's been a great representative of UMass since day one.

He can come back next season if he wants to.

Assuming that McCall wants him back, and I can’t see why he wouldn’t.

Can he come back though? McCall indicated that Pierre is on track to get his masters degree this year. https://twitter.com/A10MBB/status/1326675042600710146 I know absolutely diddly squat about eligibility rules, but it seems unlikely that someone can play if they're not enrolled or have finished a graduate program. Also, I don't know if he'd come back for a 5th year. He's been fantastic and I'm expecting a nice senior season from him, but he might get passed on the depth chart. And given his academic success, it might be time to move on and start real life.

^ Given the unusual circumstances due to the pandemic, maybe a ceremony can be planned for opening night of 2021-22 for him.

If anyone deserves to be honored in front of a crowd of UMass fans it’s Carl!

With the virus rate heading back to last spring's levels, don't count on any spectators on campus until a vaccine is available, which pretty much rules out the current school year. Hopefully we'll be back to some semblance of normalcy next September.

My season ticket streak has now been extended to its Larry Bird year....#33!

I didn't see anything that mentions how to watch the games. Did I miss something?

Subscription sold separately. The A-14 and ESPN+ missed a good opportunity to dovetail and offer discounted subscriptions for the season.

BTW - Hockey East is offering free streaming this season.

Email from the department today... hope this suffices for those of you complaining about communication from the Department:

Good morning everyone –

I hope that this email finds you and your loved ones safe, healthy, and well. It feels like forever since we have all been able to come together!

We are certainly disappointed that we will not be able to host you all in the Mullins Center this season as a men’s basketball season ticket holder. However, the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans will always be our first priority, and for that, we made the decision to not host fans in the Mullins Center until further notice. This decision was made following consultation with local public health and university officials and in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order prohibiting large capacity venues from opening to the public.

I do want to reassure you all that your seats will be here waiting for you next year, or whenever we can open our doors again. The renewal process for the 2021-22 season will be what it would have been for this season, in a non-COVID year. If you had season tickets for 2019-20, they will be on reserve for you, whenever we are able to open the renewal process. Please, rest assured, your seats are not going anywhere!

We are so grateful for your support of our men’s basketball program, and truly, would not be building this program without all of you. Gameday will certainly be different in the Mullins Center – but I know one things for sure, this group has passion and will cheering on our Minutemen no matter what!

Hopefully, you all have seen our Home Suite package offerings that we launched last night! If you purchase a “Home Suite” package, we are going to do what we can to put your fan cutout in your seat, where applicable. Our primary goal with the cutouts is to put them all in TV visible locations, so that you can potentially see yourself when you're watching! Hopefully everyone understands this mindset.

Lastly, please note, all games not carried as part of the A-10’s national television package will be streamed through the Atlantic 10’s partnership with ESPN+, should you be interested in watching games! This includes both home and away contests in conference.

Once again, thank you for your support of our men’s basketball program always. This season will be different, but your seats are not going anywhere and we look forward to the day we can all come together again!

Stay well, stay safe, Go UMass!

Alyssa

Looks like Hockey East streaming is 'free' for those who subscribe to to CBS All Access at $5.99 per month, with commercials, or $9.99 per month, without commercials.
