Game 5, 2022-23: vs Charlotte (11/20, Myrtle Beach Championship)
Re: Game 5, 2022-23: vs Charlotte/Tulsa (11/20, Myrtle Beach Tourney)
It’s very early, but Charlotte seems like they might be decent. They beat Boise St by 12 which beat new A10 member Loyola Chicago by 22. Not sure I see this huge talent disparity that others do. I think it’s going to be a good game.

I agree. Keon is solid and deserves time. His D is good and he's a good ball handler. I'd like to see Gapare worked in a bit more. Shot blocking is good and alltho he seems a little hesitant offensively, he passes well and just needs to play a little more to get more aggressive. Can use his fouls to keep Kante/WL fresh. Lovin this team so farTheInsider wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 8:59 am Keon will have to get some time if you're starting the other 2 primary ball handlers.. I do like that starting 5 though

Agreed.. I thought Gapare looked a little more comfortable yesterday than he did the day before. He still looks unsure of what he is supposed to do. The break after tomorrow should really help him. It may take a while for him to work his way in, but the talent is there

After the Towson game my brain said that I would be very happy winning the first two and getting to the Championship Game. Now, the heart takes over. I want a trophy!!!

Be a great thing for these guys to win this. Confidence in each other is building and every game they will get more in sync. Noah really stepping up his leadership and everyone seems to be buying in to what Frank is asking of them. I think we could see significant improvement come league play

Many of you may remember the Leemire Goldwire game of 2006, but our history goes back a lot farther. At one time they were UNC-Charlotte. We played them in The Hall of Fame Classic at the Springfield Civic Center in 1974. Those in my demographic may remember this game. Charlotte was athletic, tall with long arms and they killed us. They went to the final 4 a couple of years later. See if you recognize a name from their season stats:

wow, you are very optimistic...after the Towson game I was just hoping we'd win another game all year!69MG wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 11:39 am After the Towson game my brain said that I would be very happy winning the first two and getting to the Championship Game. Ironically, Frank was hoping to get a home and away this year and next year with Charlotte. But Charlotte couldn't schedule the game dues to some other conflict and backed out.

Robert Parish and Centenary were also in that tournament. I recall it well.69MG wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 4:07 pm Many of you may remember the Leemire Goldwire game of 2006, but our history goes back a lot farther. At one time they were UNC-Charlotte. Not being able to be with team over the Visa issue hurt him, but I think he steadily gets in the flow and is a big part of the mix by conference play.TheInsider wrote: Sat Nov 19, 2022 10:16 am Agreed..
