What's worrying me the most is this a continuation of Martin's coaching at South Carolina: Really good recruiter and graduates players but mediocre at best head coach and career getting near the end. His being outcoached by two other first year coaches with weaker rosters and the lack of enthusiasm by the players is very concerning.

It’s obvious they are a group of talented individuals. They’re not a team. To play that poorly in so my different facets of the game, 16 games into the season is unacceptable. I want to trust the process but the process is broken. It’s up to Frank to fix it.

Luis is gone after season. He’ll be coveted by a south Florida team.

You can not convince me that the game has passed Frank by, but not Fran Dunphy. Believe it or not, Frank is 17 years younger. 17!

From the day he was hired at UMass I was under no illusions that Frank was a good X's and O's or tactical coach. The alarm bells for me started to ring when he filled out his staff with mostly older experienced coaches that nothing to indicate an acumen in those areas to help Frank.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with this in regards to Frank or Dunphy, but the game passing you by isn't about age.

not back on it -

Sorry, I said it that way because I was immediately told he didn't come back due to an injury related situation rather than what I suspected to be a benching.

He played basically the whole 2nd half last night and beside that out of control layup he got where he lost the ball and then got it back 3 times before laying it in he did nothing...
Agree to disagree, I guess. He was in there at crunch time when we closed the gap. I'm not going to discount his contributions during that time. I also disagree with your assertion that he was basically in for the whole 2nd half, considering he only played 14 total minutes, some of which were in the first half. He was barely given a chance at GW (only 11 minutes) and was incredible against St Louis with 8 pts, 6 reb, 2 assists, 2 steals and 5 blocks. That's a really diverse and impressive stat line.

Agree! I worked with an 80 year old, class of 42 Harvard grad (RIP) who stormed the beaches of Normandy, that was more with it than people more then half his age.

Blech, losing at home to LaSalle, seriously?

How was the crowd last night, I saw attendance was 2800 or so. Was it at least lively at the end? Students are still gone, right? That never helps.

Still plenty of season left. Just gotta get LaSalle back at their place. Even Arkansas lost last night at home, so it happens. That was the worst broadcast team in history - Jimmy Dykes and Jay Bilas. Completely incompetent on the play-by-play.

Fair. How about, Fran has been out of coaching since the '18/19 season. And Frank clearly still knows how to recruit and build relationships. I love this roster, truly. I just don't love how it's being managed.

I'm somewhat confused in reading these posts why DD was out for most of the time.

In any event DD should be starting and getting 25-30 minutes a game. His line for the year - ave minutes played 16, points per game 9, rebounds 3.7, field goal % 60%, 3 point % 38.7, free throw % 81.8.

He is an energetic, tall/lanky, good shooting, explosive wing. If he played 28 minutes a game, he would be a consistent 18/8 player. In every game I've been to he has played well. Why he is languishing on the bench, I cannot figure out.

in my opinion it was the worst crowd of the year. so embarrassing when the PA guy tries to start the when I say U you say MASS and no one says MASS. Or when he tells everyone to get on their feet ass they run our of the locker room and ten people stand. I worry more about the lack of fans driving these kids out of the program more than I do Frank. These kids work the butts off in practice and it has to be deflating for them to play in front of 3000 fans each game. You can tell me win and they will come out but anytime I watch games on TV, I don't care who it is, the arena does not look as empty as ours does.

To the person who said Luis will go back to Florida after this year - would you blame him? He can play at Florida or Miami or Florida St or just about any other school down south - why wouldn't he want to play closer to home? I'd be shocked if he came back next year and would bet my house he doesn't stay all 4 years.

Also,

The great Maz continues to pick every game ... incorrectly.
