2025-26 Season
Re: 2025-26 Season
I'm feeling positive about the team. Enjoying reading up on the new players and how we might play them together.
The depth at 4 is reassuring as DHS plays physical and can get in foul trouble. Bettiol should be very important as a result.
Wish we had a summer trip this year to get a preview.

Re: 2025-26 Season
Considering all the new faces, a foreign trip would be great. The last one was in '23 when they went to Puerto Rico. They get one international trip every 4 years, but since the last one was to U.S. territory Puerto Rico and may not count as an international tour, they may be able to schedule another one. I imagine they aren't cheap though, so I think it's safe to say that we won't see another one for a couple years.

Re: 2025-26 Season
I'll hazard a guess at the starting lineup for game 1:
Parker
Banks, Jr.
Ndjigue
DHS
Outlaw/Clerc
Copped out on the 5, because I really can't decide here. As we know, Frank plays a lot of guys. Think we'll have different starting and closing lineups throughout the season. Looks like we have a lot of options and balance. I'm pumped to see how this group comes together for 25/26.

A new Being Frank podcast is out where they talk about Banks, Brown, Parker, and Carbuccia. https://art19.com/shows/plant-the-flag/ ... 8a11ca3a15
Re: 2025-26 Season
^ There were 2 episodes. The first one was about the new frontcourt players, and this one is about the backcourt. If you wish, you can skip the first 30 minutes of this episode. It's the same stuff we have heard dozens of times. Good stuff, later on the skills of each new guard.
It was brought up to Jay later that Wimbley was not mentioned in either episode. I asked Jay if that was because they can't decide if Wimbley is a 2 or a 3. He said Wimbley might have to have his own episode.

Wimbley is an interesting prospect ! The p word ! Potential is a great thing sometimes!
Re: 2025-26 Season
^ Frank did an interview about a week ago with a guy who sounded like he was from South Carolina or somewhere in the south. At one point he talked about how they got Wimbley. I can't find it so if someone knows where to get it, maybe you can post a link. The big picture is that Frank knows his father, and when Hamilton retired his father called Frank to tell him that his son's recruitment was back open. Does Frank know every basketball family in southern Florida?

Probably. He's been around a while, and has sat in the stands of a lot of high schools, AAU tournaments, basketball camps and attended a lot of sports banquets over the years. Didn't he also land RJ Luis by having an existing relationship with RJ's family?

just received an email to renew my season tickets and it says parking is no longer free for Basketball and Hockey games.
Re: 2025-26 Season
^ Depends on your giving level to the "Script U" Scholarship Society. $2,500 gets you free parking in Lot 67 or Lot 25 (reserved section). $500 or $1,000 gets you free parking in the reserved section of lot 25 or for $1,000 you might get on the street (Mullins Way) behind lot 67. It's gotten a bit out of hand, and this has been discussed in other threads.

Re: 2025-26 Season
I don't like it, and it's a terrible look considering the performance last season, but they need to find money somewhere, and guess where that's going to come from? The fans. Parking now costs some money and I'm guessing we'll see a ticket price increase. While the product has been bad for a while, we've been lucky that tickets were cheap and parking was free. It's a move they had to do, and it's probably a few years late. Again, I don't like it, but I understand it.
Re: 2025-26 Season
This was mentioned in the FB forum, but also worth mentioning here for the hoop-first crowd. Episode 6 of the Flagship Pod is up, and there's some good crossover conversation of hoop, football, and the MAC transition.
