Good one! Did you file for patent?
I’ll take a tee shirt.

University of Vermont (UVM) sells a great football tee shirt - “undefeated since 1974 “ (the year the program was disbanded).
Hopefully, someday I’ll also be able to buy a similar UMass tee shirt!

Agree. The train wreck and denial is absolutely painful. Even though I am a two time UMass alum, I’m not from New England. But it sure appears the neighbors have figured this one out a while ago.

Please be respectful and stay on topic instead of resorting to the same dumb 'kill the program" diatribe. That's not on topic and that's not happening.

The topic is: Suspend any downgrade or kill the program discussion. "You're hired to be the new UMass AD.... Where do you begin, and what, in order of priority, do you do to address this disaster"

Thanks for staying on the topic.

Thanks Jack and believe the classics are support, recruiting, staff and scheduling.

Going in reverse order, Independence was brutal for scheduling with multi power conference games. Staffing has been an issue as no one wants to end their careers coaching an independent without properly financing. Then talent, and the old age saying, you can't teach talent. But in the talent stack is getting players with a good work ethic, drive to be successful and good team mates is never easy, especially without the support from the governor, president, BOT, and chancellor.

With all that said, I thought with the support moving to the MAC from the leaders, some additional financial commitment from sources, thought we be better instantly. But unlike almost all FBS sports, the football head coach is paid significantly less the basketball coach at UMass. So, the financial support is a mixed message. Positively speaking we are paying near the top of the MAC and top with overall supporting staff. Still the immediate turner hoped by many is obviously not immediate. The number one priority is recruiting good players and needed financial support by us, the new conference revenue, and cannot happen fast enough. Think we will be ok going forward with NIL from UMass starting July 1st and hope to see some fruit.

Idk, why we had so many injuries, if it's scheduling, bad luck, or players from the portal not being totally honest. In Tyler Martin's interview, he said a number of those players were two faced. Should add time and developing staff, getting acclimated to the players, proper vetting time of recruits going forward.

Main priority is scheduling: lets talk 2026 and 2027: we play at Rutgers first game 2026 and at Indiana 4th game 2027. That is it for P4 schools. This year was ridiculous with 2 P4 schools in games 3 and 4 this year. Of course half the team is hurt and out for the season. I think it really comes down to those seasons because we're probably going 0-12 this year and if we lose to Sacred Heart and Stony Brook the next 2 seasons I think its 0-36 and the show's over. We're lucky in a way because the MAC took us back primarily for academic reasons and a lot of MAC schools have declining enrollment. In other words: the MAC is desperate. With NIU leaving and Ohio looking to leave, the MAC needed us just as we needed them. But 0-36 in 3 seasons will get you kicked out of an FBS conference like Temple was booted from the Big East.

I said just be Buffalo good and they will sell out every game and the atmosphere will be like it was today - that was fun.

I guess you can blame Bamford for hiring Hyrisimiak but you cannot blame him for Joe's absolute disastrous clock management in the 4th qtr. I never coached football in my life and I was screaming to not snap the ball until 2-3 seconds - I think 6 times under 4 minutes up 1 point they snapped the ball with anywhere from 15-20 seconds left - WHY???? Yeah Buffalo would have started using their timeouts but thats a good thing. Do the math - we intercepted the ball with under a minute - you let the clock wind down and there's probably under 10 seconds and we take 1 snap and kneel on the ball.

The unsportsmanlike penalty after what we all thought was the game winning INT was a killer! INT was at the 25 - now you decide to do a snow angel in the middle of the field and all of a sudden your inside your won 10. Of course you lose yardage on the next two plays and now your kicking from the back of your end zone. HUGE difference kicking from the 20-25 yard line and the back of your own end zone.

And one more thing - why does it seem like every game this year is 4 hours long??? WAY too many breaks IMO.
someone explain to me how you lose a football game with the lead and the ball with 60 seconds left............We had 4 downs at 40 seconds each. Did Buffalo have all 3 time outs remaining with 1 minute to go???? HOW THE FUCK DID WE LOSE TO BUFFALO???

My first move would be more money for the players pool to upgrade the talent. I think Coach Joe deserves an opportunity to see what he can do with an upgraded roster. At least 2 more years. I think we need to see some positive progress before we expect money to be available for any new stadium project. It's all about what's on the field first & foremost

I will be on that and the Liberty loss with the muffed FG to win as time expired the rest of my life. Not to mention the blocked PAT that Temple took to the house in 2015.
Plus, Don Brown was no kid I get it he was pushing 70 but he loved UMass.........just get rid of Bamford............It's been 10 years

Another priority is to go back into time and NOT FIRE MARK WHIPPLE. He had back to back 4-8 seasons 2017/2018 and 2014 we almost beat colorado and vandy and were within a touchdown of all the other games except Penn State.

That Vandy game still hurts

Missed a 22 yarder for the tie

Blake Frohnapfel was our QB, that's a name that never gets said here

Ladies & Gentleman: Traveling back in time to undo the firing of Mark Whipple, Don Brown, Charlie Molnar or Walt Bell is not a reasonable priority.

FTR: I was very opposed to letting Whip go. Most here disagreed w/me. Its okay. But we gotta move on and discuss priorities from there on out.

For me its being competitive in the MAC - which means having a solid financial plan for recruiting and NIL that is at the upper end of the MAC - $1M at least for NIL. I think Coach H is entitled to have the tools necessary to build a competitive roster - he was apparently not given those tools until July 2025 - so we essentially just wasted 2025. That can't happen. So my priority is getting the financial plan for success locked in NOW so that Coach H can build a competitive roster. That is the #1 priority from my perspective. Makes no sense to laser focus on anything other than improving the on field performance.

So I'm on the same page as Floyd .... sorry Floyd :D
