They played such an excellent first half - I
left at halftime. I know I shouldn’t do that but with a 90 mile trip home I was confident that this was a win. I think this team could go 26-4. Players compete to win as a team anddo not play for themselves,I know it’s early but I think they have a decent chance to win this league. Solid coaching!

This team is a pleasure to watch. They play unselfish, team basketball. Take down BC on Saturday!

BC is 3-2 with losses to UConn and Providence. Their 3 wins are over mediocre teams so it's hard to know just how good they are. They've been beatable the last couple of years, but they beat us last year 62-57 at their place. We couldn't put the ball in the basket that game, shooting 35% from the field. We ought to be better than that this year and at home.

Size isn't much of a factor as they only play 1 player over 5'11, the 6'2 center, Rolph. They love the 3 ball and have 7 players who shoot it roughly 3 per game or more. They hit at 37% as a team.

I hope to be there on Saturday to watch UMass go to 5-0.

They are! Play for each other, and always look for the open player. And defense is very good. Very balanced team with a good mix of veterans & young players. Keep it rolling! Very well prepared too

^ That's also mentioned in the Tory Verdi thread, if anyone wants to keep that tangent going.

Back to the M'women - Boston College comes into Mullins, Saturday at high noon. ESPN+ has it but it'd be great to get more people in the building and get behind this team.

Tickets: https://umasstix.evenue.net/event/WB25/ ... M&RDAT=sgl

Common opponents so far...
Harvard visited both: We won 68-55, BC lost 72-65 in OT
UM Lowell lost to both as a visitor, by 40 to UM, and by 29

By transitive properties, we should win, but that doesn't always work out, as we all know.

I'm really sad to be missing today's game but my band has a gig in Western, NY with an early load-in and soundcheck, so we're about to head out. I was able to give my tickets to a friend who I've taken to several other games when my wife is away. I hope there's a great crowd and that we beat BC!

When McKayle looks much bigger than the opposing pg, you know they're pretty small

Olbrys is a good player. Very impressed with her game.
The women look ready today, get that W!

Good day for UMass sports viewing. Women's & men's hoop, then hockey. Let's get 3 Ws

61-53! 5 and oh yeah! The game wasn’t as close as the score might suggest.

Yeah I saw we were up 16 in the 4th. Did we take our foot off the gas a bit? Whatever, good win! Keep it going!

Great win! We were able to stream it on the radio in the car. Sounded like there were a lot of people there.
