I agree and I think he will do that.. He got stuck with trying to get a few premadonnas to play right toward the end of the season. I think he's looking forward to next year's team. I remember one of the coaches show where someone asked him about the guys sitting out and he got excited about talking about next year like he couldn't wait to get there... Thought it was kinda wierd.

It's really already been said. Players crapped out yesterday. Dk looks like he can't coach his way out of a paper bag about 50 percent of the time. Yesterday's game was awful. Did they watch any film? As a coach you have to know how to neutralize at least one of those two guys down low. He couldn't even do that

So are we saying he gave up on this years team .Will he do the same next year?

Deer in the headlights. Exactly what I was thinking as I watched it. DK did not even start to stop the bleeding until TN had a significant lead. Lots of work do do.

Getting blown out in the first round of the dance as a six seed is still better than losing to Ohio State in the NIT final, but not by much.

This just sucks.

It could have possibly been the pressure they felt being a 6 seed and living up to those expectations whereas a low seed is just glad to be there and can can play like they have nothing to lose.

I don't buy that they were jittery do to being a 6th seed since oddsmakers like Vegas had us as an underdog.

The more i think about it the more embarrassed I get with the way we looked yesterday. Our offense looked like that of a ymca pickup game, no set pieces, no sense of structure, and our defense was severely lacking fundamentals and sound game planning. I can only hope that most of the country was more interested in other games and the majority were't watching us. It was as bad as it gets, and at the same time wasn't shocking after what we've watched for the last two months. It was all building up to what happened yesterday.

Maybe I'll watch one of our games from November/December today to make me feel better.....

I didn't want to pile on the negativity yesterday because I think it important to first recognize where this program has been, and where it is now. I was a Junior when Calipari arrived so watched our program go from laughingstock to powerhouse and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Then suffered equally as badly to watch the slow but steady decline after his departure.

Now there is hope. Dk, for all his coaching faults, loves this program. He has delivered on 3 straight 20 win seasons and gotten us back to the NCAA tournament. That makes me happy.

I hated yesterdays game. It wasn't ever competitive. We looked lost, unprepared and overwhelmed. I don't like our offense, it looks unbalanced and dependent on individual rather than team play. I don't like not using timeouts when other teams are dismantling us and not making adjustments. I hate that we never developed the freshmen. There was a lot not to like yesterday and over the past couple months. We peaked early and never got better.

But all that said, I go back to paragraphs one and two. We are on the rise. We are steadily improving overall. We have yet to discover what our ceiling might be under DK. I like the look of next years team and think it will be a pleasant surprise when they start to gel. I love DK's recruiting capabilities (although get a pure shooter please!!!). I will roll with DK and expect very big things. I want to see a 20 year tenure for DK and domination of the A10 or whatever it becomes in the future. This can happen.

Go UMass!

How is this for a silver lining... It's less painful to lose the way we did then the way VCU did.

I honestly believe that those teams didn't play with jitters because they were conference tournament champions. They had confidence coming in, and a nothing to lose mentality. UMass limped in, losing in A-10 quarterfinals. It doesn't help that Kellogg is one of the worst motivators I have ever seen. His pre game speech, before the biggest game of their lives, was absolutely pathetic.
