Game 16, 2013-14: at George Mason
Game 16, 2013-14: at George Mason
UM's first league road game of the season is also their first against George Mason as the newest member of the Atlantic 10.
The Patriots are currently 7-7, and just about to open up their conference season, tonight at VCU, on CBS Sports Network.
For our game on Wednesday, a few regional sports channels will pick it up:
NESN+
SNY in metro NY
MASN in the capitol region
Check out this thread for events that fellow board members are putting together:

And if you happen to be near Mohegan Sun, stop by as they're hosting a watch party for the game:

Just posted a new thread for this game, then deleted it when I saw this one already existed. Anyway, here's what I said.
I'm still kinda speechless from today's game, so I figured I'd start the game thread for our next one. Sounds like we're going to have a huge UMass turnout for a weeknight road game, so that's good. I think a road conference game against a beatable team is just what this team needs right now. Much as I was pleased with our effort down the stretch today, we got a call or two that we might not catch on the road. The crowd over the last seven minutes was also tremendous. Those are advantages you get at home and if we come out flat like we did today at GMU, we very likely will not win. I'm looking forward to see how we respond, particularly against an opponent that's been reeling a bit. GMU is just the type of team we need to hit in the mouth in the early going. Can't let them hang around or we'll be in trouble.

Mason put up a good fight against VCU. We'll lose if we play like we've been playing. They have some talent on their team. We've played good enough to win at home, but it won't be good enough to win on the road. I'm wondering the team actually has to lose in order to improve their intensity.

I think GMU is a more talented team than Bona, but Bona is much better coached. But admittedly, I haven't watched enough of either team to say with certainty.Chris20 wrote:No argument that we need to play better.
I do think St. Bona and St. Joe are better teams than Mason, though.
I think St. Joes is a very talented team that is terribly coached.

150 tickets sold to UMass fans? If there are 200 people in a UMass section that would be great especially for a weeknight!KahunaK wrote:Sold 150 tickets and I expect another 50-100 to show up for the game. We will be loud and proud. GO UMASS.....but please don't fall behind by 13 points in the second half ever again!
Anyone know if NESN national would pick up the game I saw it listed on NESN+ but don't know much about that. Right now Dennis & Callahan are listed on my guide down here in FL. Uggg
UConn girls are........................... Huskies!!
I would think they would have scheduled the Elon game in between these two games so they wouldn't have to make separate trips. Also, didn't UMass go right from Ohio to Florida last month when they played FSU without returning to Amherst? The Camby Man Can wrote:perhaps a dumb question, but since there are no classes...
logistically, does the team stay down south between the GM, Elon and Richmond games... it would be a hefty hotel bill so i doubt it, but 3 separate round trip flights seems a bit excessive.
Give WBB more money.
