Game 1: Boston F'in College

Post by UMass1991 » Tue Jul 08, 2014 9:04 am

Sure it is early July and maybe Mike won't like my subject line, but I just bought my tickets to the BC game. I am shocked and pissed at how many tickets are still available on the Umass side. This is Boston F'in College. If you haven't bought your tickets yet, what are you waiting for? There is no way I would miss this game and I live in Charlotte. Hell, even Steve Buckley is predicting a Umass win.

I don't think the tickets will start selling until they start the big push in August.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

Only the true diehards are thinking about this game right now. Wait until August when camp opens up and college football articles/stories appear in some significant volume.

I just ordered my group tickets yesterday. My company is bringing at least 25 people, hopefully we get some more as game date approaches. Getting excited!

No need to worry about ticket sales for this one... the walk up crowd will be huge.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

I'm flying in from SoCal for the game and rounding up a crew of 25-30. Let's go for 50k! It may be crazy but it can be done. Make them open up the upper seating!

I'm planning on making a Cape/Gillette weekend out of Labor Day and will hopefully get a decent sized crew to join me. I am not even close to as big a UM FB fan as I am of hoops but I can't ever remember a time I was so excited for a UMass football game. I honestly think Whip is going to shake things up and believe we have a chance to catch BC sleeping. It would be amazing if we got 50K and if 30-35 of them were UMass fans. Keep spreading he word and putting it on folks radar. An event like this is guaranteed to generate enthusiasm amongst even the most casual elements of our deceptively large fan base but people plan Labor Day in advance so the word has to get out there.

Who's got a good tailgate I can hit up? (This is my first Gillette game in the FBS era--only other game I went to was at UConn so I don't know the scene at all).

That would also give them a reeeeaaaaally big head start on 15K average home attendance! :D :D :D

The crowd size doesn't concern me, I'm more concerned about the walk up crowd for the UMass side.
Give WBB more money.

Last I looked at the seat map on Tickermaster, there were not many seats left on the BC side, but about 1-2K on the Umass side. Turns my stomach to think that there may be BC fans sitting on the Umass side. As someone who has worked at Gillette, they will not open the upper deck unless they know like now there will be a demand so they can properly staff

I'm not sure how seriously I would take that ticketmaster map. If you click on the Colorado game there are zero seats available on the Colorado side. That would be a beautiful thing to see, but I doubt it is accurate.
UMass...the best is yet to come

Do they block out that side until, say, a couple weeks before the game? My guess is TM would hold those seats for the athletic department of the away school but I have less than zero knowledge of these type of things.
