Re: 2015-16 Season
I honestly don't know if we can be better next year than this year with the loss of Maxie and Cady.
I fear we may struggle to even have a winning record. I also don't think we should even try a schedule as difficult at this past year or year before.
Do we have enough experienced big guys to compete in the A10???

Re: 2015-16 Season
You mean like Dayton? Enough with the big guy crap. A good coach can win in the A10 without anyone bigger than 6'7". Just look at Dayton. The problem is that DK can't even sniff Archie Miller's jockstrap. That's the problem. Not the lack of big guys. DK doesn't know what to do with big guys when he does have them.DoctorJ wrote:...

Re: 2015-16 Season
That makes me feel a little better 87. But I would really like to get the image of DK and Archie Miller's jockstrap out of my head.
I'm no coach and was never a player, so I don't always have the best perspective.
Are we at the limit for scholarships next year??? What is it 13??

87 is right that you don't need a big. Having one or two helps though. What would also help is if the rest of the guys were solid A10 caliber players.

Or if you coached around their deficiencies to maximize their potential.

Re: 2015-16 Season
I don't know if DK is capable with a team that had as many deficiencies as this one had. I think with a really good coach we may have won 3 or maybe 4 more games.
Re: 2015-16 Season
I'm not as down on the players as you (though DG's inability to shoot is a very big deficiency and Davis' and Hinds' inability to dribble without turning the ball over is similarly devastating).

So a SG that can't shoot and PGs that turn it over.not gonna win much with that.

Re: 2015-16 Season
First piece of business: Play a bunch of shitty non-conference teams. Maybe 2-3 legit games, but not 7 or 8 like this year. A10 is going to be much improved next year and we can't afford to enter an 18 game conference slate already in a deep hole.

I think we are looking at a 10-win season if this is the lineup.Almontis wrote:Pipkins
