2006-07 pre-season report from Head Coach Travis Ford: "I think you'll see improvement from Brandon Thomas. He was our top scorer on our preseason trip to the Bahamas (19.6 points per game). He can do so many things and plays so many positions. Last year we might have stretched him in asking him to play point guard, but he has been much more comfortable playing in the wing. He is somebody who can shoot the ball from the perimeter, he's long, he can defend, he can put the ball on the floor and score. So he's a guy who will see a lot of minutes on the court in a lot of different positions."
Junior year (2005-06) achievements:
- Wearing No. 0 in road games (maroon jersey)
- Started first 13 games, at three different positions (small forward (twice), shooting guard (eight) and point guard (three). Returned to starting line-up on Feb. 12 for four games until Feb. 22. Came off bench for last five games.

just 2.1 points per game and shooting 20.0 percent (6-for-30) from the floor.
- Over four games in starting line-up averaged 10.0 points from Feb. 12-22.
- Netted nine points vs. Charlotte (2/22) and eight points at St. Bonaventure (2/19) in starts.
- Scored 13 points at No. 7/8 George Washington (2/15) including UMass first seven points of the game. Total was highest in 17 games.

Thomas happy to find a team (9/24/2005)
Junior year (2005-06) pre-season report from Head Coach Travis Ford: "Brandon is probably the most versatile player on our basketball team. Brandon can literally play four positions from the point guard spot to the number four spot. He sat out all of last year and didn't even get to practice so it will take some time to get the rust off but he is somebody who can shoot the ball from the perimeter, he's long, he can defend, he can put the ball on the floor and score.
