At UMass
- Played his freshman year for Bruiser Flint, and sophomore year for Steve Lappas. Opted to transfer after that.
- A sensational dunker, but didn't get many opportunities to showcase those skills in games with us.
2001-02 season
- Appeared in 12 games, all off the bench. Tallied 5.3 points and 2.1 rebounds, in 11.4 minutes per game.
- Left the team prior to the regular-season finale, opting to concentrate on academics, after it was clear he wouldn't make much more progress with the Minutemen.1)
- Last appeared in the game at Rhode Island (2/2), going scoreless in six minutes of action.
- The 12 games played was the lowest for any Minuteman on scholarship this season.
- Scored double-figures in three games, including a 22-point effort at Fordham (1/12) in 22 productive minutes of action.
- Logged a UMass-high 26 minutes against Maine (12/23), tallying 12 points and 6 rebounds.
- Was in the dog house early in the season, missing the team bus for the trip to NC State (12/1), and he was left behind for the trip.

2000-01 season
- Appeared in 17 games, all off the bench, but only tallied 45 minutes of action, scoring 20 total points.
- Better at dunks than defense, Pugh struggled to gain favor with Bruiser's defensive mindset.2)

Sacramento State (2002-05)
- Transferred back home to Sacramento, and joined the Hornets at Sacramento State.3)
- Got the opportunities he was looking for, and upped his production from 3.0 ppg at UMass to 12.0 at Sac State, including 15.0 in his final season.
- Had also considered Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, and St. Mary's.4)
- Graduated in 2005 with a degree in Child Development.5)
- Inducted into their Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.6)
2004-05 season
- Big Sky First Team selection.
- Runner-up at the College Slam Dunk Championship in March.7)
- Appeared in 25 of the Hornets' 28 games, starting in 23.
- Minutes up to 28.2 per game, scoring up to 15.0 per game, as he blossomed into a 3-point shooter, taking 6.2 per game and hitting at .378.
- Scored 24+ points in four of the last five games in the season, and 20+ points in seven of the last ten.
- Dropped 40 points on NAIA's William Jessup University (1/25).
- Just missed a double-double, with 11 & 9, at Montana State (1/20).
- His 18 points led the team at Portland State (1/6).
