Michael Lasme

Lasme in the 12/7/03 game against Boston College

At UMass

2002-03 season

  • Played in 28 of the 29 games on the season, starting in 16.
  • Averaged 27.5 minutes per game, contributing 7.5 points and 3.1 rebounds at the shooting guard position.
  • Tallied 13 points, 9 boards, and 10 assists in the win over Columbia (1/9).
  • Hurt his wrist in the Rhode Island (1/15) game, and thought he might need surgery, but didn't miss any time.
  • Led the Minutemen with 24 points in the win at GW (1/25), the most points scored in a game by a UMass true freshman since Marcus Camby scored 32 against Maryland in 1994.
  • Missed the Duquesne game (2/23) with an elbow injury.

Some external sources reported that Lasme was the A-10's Newcomer/Rookie of the Year in 2002-03. That is false. That honor went to La Salle's Gary Neal. Lasme didn't make the A-10 Rookie Team, nor won a Rookie of the Week honor.
