The 1984-85 UMass Minutemen men's basketball team represented the University of Massachusetts. The Head Coach was Ron Gerlufsen. The team played its home games in the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, and was a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Springfield was used as an alternate home venue, as the Curry Hicks Cage was undergoing renovations during the entire season.

The season represented the 76th season of basketball in the school's history.
