UMass improved to 9-0 when leading at the half.
The Minutemen shot 69.6% (16-for-23) from the free throw line. They entered the game at .680

UMass forced a season-high five turnovers from its press and scored six points off those. For the game, the Minutemen netted 16 points off 18 Red Hawk turnovers. UMass had nine steals, its second most this season (10 vs. Boston College in the opener).
Chaz Williams finished with 18 points and 8 assists. He scored 11 points in his first 11 minutes on the floor. He had shot .311 from the floor in the last four games.
Raphiael Putney broke out of a mini slump, finishing with 8 points and 2 3-pointers. He had scored two points in each of the last two games and missed his last six 3-pointers coming into the contest. He made 2 of his first 3 shots from outside against the RedHawks.
