Kansas State (Assistant), 2006-07
- Rejoined Bob Huggins. Martin has said that Huggins didn't fully accept the job until knowing that Martin would continue to work for him and join him there.13)
- K-State improved to 23-12, up from 15-13 the year before. The Wildcats also went to the second round of the NIT, their first post-season play since 1999.
Cincinnati (Assistant), 2004-06
- 2005-06: Remained with Cincinnati after Huggins resigned and assistant Andy Kennedy was elevated to interim head coach.
- 2004-05: Served on Bob Huggins’ staff.
Northeastern (Assistant), 2000-04
- 2001-04: Served under Ron Everhart. Northeastern improved to 19-11 in the 2003-04 season. Martin recruited would-be NBA player J. J. Barea to the Huskies.14)15) (Barea scored 24 against UMass in the 2004-05 season.)
- 2000-01: Served under Rudy Keeling. NU went 10-19 (8-10 America East.)
- NU did not play UMass while Martin was on staff.

- 1999-2000: Head Coach at Booker T. Washington in Miami
- 1995-98: Head Coach at Miami Senior. One of his players was Udonis Haslem. Martin crossed paths with another Florida high school coach, Tim Maloney, who went on work at UMass as Travis Ford's assistant from 2005-08.16)

- High school classmate of Anthony Grant, and Grant is Brandon Martin's godfather24)
- Had a near-death experience in 2006, recovered under circumstances that some thought were miraculous27)
