1994-95 Season

The 1994-95 UMass Minutemen men's basketball team represented the University of Massachusetts. The Head Coach was John Calipari. The team played its home games primarily in the Mullins Center in Amherst, Massachusetts, and was a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The season represented the 86th season of basketball in the school's history.

Notes

  • Reached our first-ever #1 ranking, with the AP Poll on 11/28 (Week 2).
  • Never slipped below #8 all season, making it the first season where we were always ranked in the Top 10.
  • Extended the Atlantic 10 record of consecutive regular season championships and tournament titles, each four in a row.
  • Reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for the first time in school history.
  • Sixteen game win streak set a new school best. (Previous was 14 in 1991-92.)

Roe ranked fifth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, and second in rebounding. Marcus Camby ranked ninth in the A-10 in rebounding.

A-10 Lists & Honors

Post-Season
Lou Roe was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. (Last Minuteman to win the honor was Harper Williams in the 1991-92 season.) Marcus Camby and Lou Roe were named to the First Team, Donta Bright and Derek Kellogg to the Third Team. Kellogg was also named to the Academic Team.

Player of the Week
Lou Roe was named three times, on 12/3, 2/4, and 2/25. Marcus Camby was also named three times, on 12/17, 1/14, and 1/21.
